About Leanne

Hi, I’m Leanne, and I’ve been working as a Integrative counsellor for over nine years. During this time, I’ve supported children, young people, and adults through many of life’s challenges, offering a safe, supportive space to talk, reflect, and begin to make positive changes.

Much of my counselling experience has been within schools, where I have helped children and young people build resilience, increase confidence, and develop strategies for managing anxiety, low mood, trauma, and the everyday pressures of school life.

Alongside this, I also work with adults, supporting them with issues such as anxiety, stress, depression, relationships, low self-worth, and the ongoing impact of trauma.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with neurodivergent children and their families. I understand the very real pressures that can come from school, family life, and trying to access the right support. I know how important it is for parents to have their own outlet too — somewhere they can talk openly, feel supported, and focus on their own wellbeing. A key part of my work includes supporting communication between children and families, helping to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and create healthier ways of connecting with each other.

In my practice, I also place great importance on psychoeducation — helping people understand more about their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and the impact of past experiences. I believe that when we learn about how our mind and body respond, it can reduce fear, build confidence, and give us practical tools to manage life more effectively.

My professional knowledge is enriched by my lived experience, which has given me a deep understanding and passion for this work. This led me to train further and gain a Diploma as an ADHD Coach, enabling me to offer additional support to children and young people with ADHD, as well as their families.

In addition to my counselling and coaching work, I am also a qualified supervisor, working with counsellors and psychological practitioners who support children, young people, and adults. I value this role highly, as it gives me the opportunity to provide a reflective and supportive space for professionals to grow and develop their practice.

If something is affecting your life — whether that’s relationships, work, health, or the day-to-day stresses that sometimes become overwhelming — talking to someone about it can really help. At the heart of my approach is creating a safe, understanding space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to take the steps that feel right for you.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework to ensure a safe, professional, and supportive practice.

I have studied a BA in Counselling, Theraplay, Level 5 in Children, Young People and Adult-Focused Relational Counselling, Diploma in ADHD Coaching I am Trauma-Informed in my practice.

About Scott

I understand that counselling can carry stigma. People can have negative experiences of counselling or draw from their perceptions based on societal views and assumptions. Whether it is your first experience or you are returning to therapy it can be difficult to ask for support. This can all feel overwhelming whilst also managing whatever it is you’re coming to counselling for in the first place.

My aim as a counsellor is to provide you with a safe space, some where you can talk about the problem’s you are facing without judgement. I am here to listen to your story and offer insight into your experiences with the hope of empowering you to make your own informed choices and achieve your goals from therapy. I can provide psychoeducation to help in the understanding of issues and learn more about your own mental health and wellbeing needs. This process focusses on growth and understanding.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means that I see you as an individual where we can work with the unique circumstances you are presenting. I bring together specific therapies to help you to explore and cope with the issues you may be facing at this time. I believe that what works for one person might not work for another, so the idea is to work together and find out what works for you.

I have been a qualified counsellor since 2021 where I have developed my practice and grown in my knowledge and understanding of mental health. I specialise in Bereavement Through Suicide and Anxiety, related to my own experiences of this. I have worked for the past 5 years with the Jac Lewis Foundation where I developed from a student into a counselling professional. I have experience in working long term and short term (six-session basis). In my time I have worked with a multitude of issues and held a support group for the Jac Lewis Foundation around Bereavement through Suicide. I am hoping to create a group in the New Year to continue supporting those who have experienced the loss of someone to suicide.

I am trauma informed where I can offer insight into your experience and work with the mind and body symptoms. I believe trauma work is a process of building trust and normalising what has happened, that this a part of you and does not define you. In sessions there is a need to work safely; to be mindful of trauma reactions and the impact it can have on a person. I am also aware of my professional boundaries so if I feel I cannot work with the issue being presented I will be open and honest if there is a need to refer on to more specialised services. I also offer coping strategies when working with trauma symptoms for when triggers occur. Trauma is often something that is hidden, it carries multiple negative emotions which may be difficult to confront. This is normal and is part of the process but there is also growth that can occur from trauma, to gain understanding of the experience and how it is impacting you in the now.

I have a keen interest in Men’s mental health as I feel it is important for men to feel they have a safe space to go to.

I hold a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP). I am currently working towards my Accreditation as I want to grow in my practice and be able to offer more to my clients. My aim is to also train in EMDR and Somatic Therapy, I feel these modalities work well together to help support the mind and body reactions that can occur from traumatic experiences.
